The aquarium definitely blows away the Children's Discovery Museum for Kekoa. He was so pumped up, giggling, and just being so silly. His favorite animal this time was the Puffins. Scott was holding him right up to the glass as they swam up and said hello. He thought this was the funniest thing ever.
When we first arrived, we headed to the huge Open Ocean exhibit, where there are schools of yellowfin tuna, huge sea turtles, a sunfish ( my favorite) and hammerhead sharks. The coolest thing in this tank is the enormous school of sardines, over 17,000 of them. It was so crazy watching them swim together.
After running around for a couple of hours, we headed back home. Kekoa fell asleep after 3 minutes in the car...a new record. He slept most of the way home, about an hour...also a record.
He was still so excited about the day, that he couldn't stop talking about it when I was trying to get him down for the night. He was making me laugh so hard, telling me all about the "bubbles", and the "da rock" (big rock) and the "sea stars", and on and on he went.
I think we will be going back, sooner than later. We had such a good time together.
Kekoa refused to put a shirt on before we left...it was quite a battle. Instead of spending our entire morning trying to get him to put on a shirt, he was more than happy to be shirtless in the car...even as it got really cool. He just snuggled in his hands for warmth.

Kekoa spotted the train in this mural from miles away and wanted a picture with it. Cheese.

The "I just saw a Puffin" smile face.

We didn't see this exhibit the last time we were here. It was made for kids and Kekoa just loved pushing all the buttons!
Kekoa and I both wanted a stuffed animal. Kekoa went a little crazy, pulling them off the shelves. I really wanted one of the sunfish, I would share with Kekoa! :) Baba said "no".
Maybe this turtle then baba?

What is this you may be thinking? It is a turtle, made from all recyclable materials. The head is looking out towards the ocean.
It was so cool to watch it bobbing. We were able to watch it while we ate lunch.

I love watching Kekoa at the touch tank. This time he climbed right up onto the step and made himself right at home. He loved touching the sea stars and was super excited when he saw a "bu one" (blue one)

Kekoa is soaking wet after touching the sea stars and loving it!

Wait for it...
Swoosh, the "da water" (big water)
Love this picture!
Running up the stairs with Baba is the best!

Sitting in a penguin egg.

More buttons to push!
Ready to go Kekoa?
Sure am...

Kekoa was super excited to show me these hand stamps he got of a "sea star" and "ou gway" (turtle)
Another highlight of the trip for Kekoa...a train. He was bummed the trains were "broken". Later, as we were trying to sleep, he was telling me these train cars were like Hiro in his Thomas book (Hiro is a broken down train). Such a smartie pants!

Leaning on the "big wall" and staring longingly at the "choo choo's".

So passed out on the way home.
