Tuesday morning class at Happy Hollow

The past 3 Tuesdays, Kekoa and I have been going to a really fun and informative class at Happy Hollow. I've really looked forward to it and am bummed it was only 3 classes. Kekoa really loved it too. Each week was a different theme with different animals to check out. Kekoa's favorite class was the one about flying animals. We got to see a little bat, up close. Kekoa was fascinated with it. When he discovered a bat in one of his books, he couldn't stop saying "a bat". This past Tuesday when we were in class, I told the teacher he remembered learning about bats. Kekoa heard me and then started saying "a bat"...the teacher was very proud of him.
My favorite class was the one from today. It was all about animal families. We got to pet a real live hedgehog. It was soooo cute, not very soft though. At the end of the class, we got to feed the animals at the farm at Happy Hollow. Kekoa absolutely loved this. We fed Chloe, the cow. She licked the pellets off of Kekoa's hands and he thought this was hilarious. He kept saying "nem" (more) so he could keep feeding her.
Of course Kekoa's favorite part of going to Happy Hollow is riding the merry-go-round. It has all kinds of really cool and different animals on it, a polar bear, giraffe, dolphin, jaguar, but all Kekoa wants to ride is the horse! Funny. I can't wait for the classes to start again in May.

Our first Tuesday morning at Happy Hollow...someone is a little bit sleep!
Oooh, look at the lemurs!
Our second Tuesday. Kekoa loves the birds, they are so colorful and talkative!
Is this a rock? Nope, a Brazil nut! Can a macaw crack open a Brazil nut?
Sure no problem! We were impressed. The nut was as hard as a rock!!
Hiding out...pretty hard to hide with such a cute belly sticking out! :)
Our third and final Tuesday
Holly the hedgehog...

Kekoa is checking out the little stuffed animal hedgehogs his shoes.

My favorite animal at the zoo, the capybara. They are like a giant guinea pig (which I love) except they love to swim! These 3 are brothers. I can't wait to come and see them swimming this summer.

Wow, meerkats! They are so cute and were play fighting with each other.
