Jiu Jiu visits

March 10-13

Jiu Jiu (Uncle Erik) came to visit us this past weekend. It was a very special visit, his first time meeting Kekoa. It was love at first sight, for both of them. Kekoa was instantly at ease with his Jiu Jiu and had so much fun playing with him. Kekoa just wishes he lived closer, like right next door! :)

Kekoa had so much fun playing with jiu jiu.

going in for a little smooch...

Friday morning, I went for a run to the park, where I met up with the boys. Kekoa was having a ball, showing Jiu jiu all around his favorite spots!

Hooray!!

Friday, after Kekoa's nap, we headed over to Santa Cruz...even though there was a tsunami warning. I didn't think it was a good idea, but Scott reassured me that it was fine. By the time we got there, there wasn't any real threat. It was gorgeous there, sunny and breezy. We were planning on munching on some Pink Godzilla sushi for lunch, but they were closed...tsunami forced closure! Instead we got some sandwiches and had a picnic on the cliffs. It was perfect. Kekoa was being extra cuddly, sat in my lap the whole time. I was so afraid he was going to run off and get too close to the cliffs, but he just wanted to hang out with us!

So weird to see these signs in Santa Cruz. Never in my life would I have thought I would see these in Santa Cruz!! Who heads for the beach when there is a tsunami? we do!

Pretty necklace mama!
Hmmm, what's in there??
Let me at it! :)

Kekoa loved walking through this tall jungle grass with Jiu Jiu.

They even found a ladybug!

Trying to find more ladybugs in the jungle grass!

Kekoa loved watching his shadow...

Saturday morning, while mama was at work, the boys went to Oak Meadow and for a ride on the train.

cruising under the airplane at Oak Meadow!

Saturday afternoon we headed downtown for a walk. We got yummy treats at Icing on the Cake and Kekoa got to show his baba and jiu jiu his favorite place to play at the library. He also couldn't resist the fountain or the huge grassy lawn in front of the high school!

Kekoa pulled himself up on to this ledge...he needed a closer look!

Thank you Erik for taking some pictures of the 3 of us. We hardly have any pictures of all of us together!

Twirly time with mama!

A snack for the ride home. Kekoa loves these fruit pouches. They are like smoothies, so yummy. He calls them baby because there is a picture of a baby on them.

Kekoa thought it was SO funny that I was running up to meet him on the ramp. We did this for about an hour!

Kekoa discovers he can fit through the bars...

It still amazes me how fast Kekoa is growing up. I watch him in awe as he runs around.
