Scott had the day off, it was a beautiful day, and we took advantage of it! We are so spoiled here in California right now, it has been just gorgeous!
Kekoa got up earlier than usual, which meant we could get out and about earlier too. We headed over to Happy Hollow. As we were driving there, Kekoa started to get a little upset because we drove past the "big duck place" (Children's Discovery Museum). We had to explain that we were going to the other super fun place he likes! This time Kekoa got to go on the rides. We usually beeline for the animals and don't have time for the rides, or the lines are just way too long.
Before the rides, Scott took Kekoa down the super long, scary slide. The entire slide is like a tube, and Kekoa didn't like this at all. He was in tears and quite scared when they popped out. We'll have to save this one for when he is a bit older.
He didn't quite know what to make of the car ride. He was a little confused because all the other kids on the ride were clustered together and he was solo! I thought he would scream bloody murder, since he has to sit there by himself, but he hung in there the whole time and even cracked a couple of smiles! We also finally got to ride Danny the Dragon. He liked this "choo choo" very much. We had time for a quick run through of the animals before heading home for Kekoa's nap. He wanted to sleep so badly in the car, I had to keep jiggling his leg so he would stay awake! So weird, we wanted for so long for Kekoa to fall asleep in the car. Now we try to keep him up...he just doesn't get a good nap in the car unless we are driving a really long distance! (Yes, Cassie, you can say I told you so!:) )

A little smile!
Where is that Danny the Dragon? There he is!

After Kekoa's nap and snack, we hit the rode again...this time to the beach! Again, another perfect beach day, maybe not as warm as when Kekoa and I came last time, but still soooo nice! Kekoa had the best time digging in the sand with baba and playing in the water. Scott filled the buckets with super chilly ocean water and Kekoa couldn't get enough of it! I tried to sit and relax a bit, but Kekoa wasn't having any of that. He kept coming up the beach and "telling" me to get up, he had things to show me! Who can resist Kekoa? Not me!
We all had rumbly tummies from playing on the sand, so we headed to our favorite sushi place, Pink Godzilla. Kekoa ate so much. We ordered a miso soup and a little kids tofu for him and I had brought food from home. He was loving the tofu, kept saying "nem" (more) and stuffing his face with it. He slurped up the soup and ate all the food I had brought from home too.
Going to the beach sure makes you hungry!
Again on the way home, we had to keep our little monkey awake. It wasn't so difficult. He was super stoked and all smiles. The whole way home he kept saying "all right, let's go". It is ADORABLE and he is so proud of himself. Most of the time all he gets out is "all right" and the "let's go" gets a little mumbled, but we know what he is saying.
Come on mama...come see what we have made!
more water please baba!
thank you!
I L.O.V.E. the beach!
