Malia had her first taste of marinara sauce with whole wheat rotini pasta. I love the recipe for homemade marinara sauce on weelicious.com. It is so easy and delicious. Today I added some mushrooms and grated zucchini to it.
Did she love it? Ummmm, let's just say her whole face lit up when she tried it. And to think, I even set aside some plain pasta for her, just in case she didn't want the marinara sauce. Tonight was one of those nights when she definitely ate more than Kekoa for dinner....two turkey pesto meatballs (another weelicious.com recipe), green peas, broccoli, cauliflower, and so much pasta. Kekoa on the other hand had 1/2 meatball and a couple bites of pasta, that is it.
I was hoping to skip the bath tonight for both kiddos but Malia had to get rinsed off. She had red sauce everywhere!! Kekoa was excited, he was able to help me give her a bath. He loved rubbing her down with the little washcloth and making her laugh.
