Last week Kekoa was the champion napper...sleeping 3 plus hours some days and waking up around 4:00.
This week, napping has been a fight. Scott puts Kekoa down for his nap but 3 out of the past 4 days Kekoa has actually put himself to sleep...a first for him (yay, Kekoa) Scott goes in and tells him stories, then leaves because Kekoa keeps goofing around. We watch him in the monitor, how he fights the sleep and then zonks out.
He likes to put his Paulie bear to sleep, which then makes him fall asleep too. :)
The dilemma is bedtime. Yesterday when he didn't have a nap, Kekoa fell asleep with no problem by 7:45 and slept until 7:15 this morning! Today Kekoa had a nap and just fell asleep...it is almost 10:00! He just wouldn't fall asleep. I finally left his room at 9:30 and he just put himself to sleep...also a first. (He didn't even get off the bed to find me...shows you how tired he is) He was so tired the entire time, yawing and just fighting it. Bedtime is so frustrating!
So the question I am asking myself is, should Kekoa be skipping his nap?

This may not seem like a great answer but You will be the best judge. Lachlan still takes naps fine and falls asleep around 8 every night but every child is different. Maybe you will go several days without him napping but then find by the third or fourth day he really needs one. Or maybe he might just need to go to bed earlier when he skips a nap. I feel for you. I don't know exactly what I'd do when Lachlan gives up on his nap. Maybe you should test him and see how he does skipping naps for several days but If he becomes more irritable and less like his usual self then maybe he still needs one but you have to limit how long he sleeps.
