27 months

My dear sweet boy,
There is a lot of laughing going on with you at 27 months. You are hilarious, the things you say are just so funny.
Just tonight I told you "the plan", we were going to wash your hands, wash your face, change your poopy diaper, and wash your booty, then jammies and story. You tell me, "I no like that plan, need new plan!" Ha!

You are using pronouns now, "I", "me", "you", etc. You don't always use them correctly, but I love that you are trying. One of your favorite things to say is "mine" or "mines"...hmmm, could this be because you are 2? One of your stall tactics is to say "I need to see something", then you find "something", whatever that may be. It is really cute. You have also started asking questions like "this one mama?", "that park?", "this stroller?", "that jacket?", etc..., the way you say it is the most adorable thing, your voice goes up at the end to emphasize that you are asking something....I love it.

You know your colors now! Yay! And you love telling us what color everything is. What amazes me is to watch how much you learn and grow. We are always telling you the colors of things and then it is like a lightbulb went off and everything just clicks. It is so awesome. You know the colors in both Chinese and English, but still prefer to speak English.

Putting you to sleep is still a challenge, but you have actually put yourself to sleep for a few naps now...which is HUGE! Baba leaves the room and you fall asleep all on your own. Nighttime is a completely different story and you are not ready to have mama leave the room yet, no way, no how! I have been putting you to sleep earlier since the time change and that seems to help things a lot, but evening are still a tough part of the day.

You have a new love affair with cake and cookies. Up until now, in your life you haven't liked any sweets. Now you get very excited about parties and getting to eat cake. You still will only have a couple bites of cookies or cake and that is enough.

You are doing great with going to the bathroom on the potty. All morning long you cruise around with nudie bottoms. You are really good about telling us when you have to go, as long as you are nudie. Funny, once the pamper is on, you are ok going to the bathroom in that too. We are not pressuring you to get potty trained, but you are definitely making big strides. You know it is a big deal when you go on the potty and know that we are proud of you. One of the books you love reading right now is called "Feelings to Share". "Proud" is one of the feelings and whenever we read that page, you say "Koa poo poo potty" with the biggest smile on your face.

You are fascinated with this change in season. You love pointing out all the bright orange and red trees. At the park you will tell me, "yook mama, an orange tree" (look at the orange tree). You can't believe how dark it gets and will tell me, "yook mama, it is VERY dark outside" Seeing the planes flying in the night sky totally blows you away and you love looking at the stars and moon.

Each day is a new adventure with you. We have awesome, amazing, easy going days, where you agree to everything and there isn't any resistance and then we have those days where everything seems to be a battle. You are pretty strong willed my little man! I love you with all my heart and every time you tell me "love you mama" or "ai ni mama", my heart melts.
