One upon a time...

Dear Kekoa,

After you have dinner, you usually have a bath.

After your bath, we get your jammies on.

After your jammies are put on, we read a story, while you eat a banana.

After your story and banana, I brush your teeth.

After your teeth are brushed, we lay in your bed and I hear, "mommy, tell me a story, tell me the ________(train, Buzz Lightyear, dinosaur, etc.), yeah, tell me that one".

After I tell you a story, you say, "now, I tell you a story" "One upon a time...." It is so cute to hear you start your stories. Your stories go on and on and on.

After you finish your story, you are so sweet and tell me, "Mommy, I love you so, so much"

Then we say this little game, "I love you with all my ____heart"  and then we fake giggle, "keee kee kee kee" (the ____ is whatever silly thing we feel like saying...my Buzz Lightyear heart or my Clifford heart or my pesto pasta heart or my mama heart or my baby sister heart or anything else that we like.)

Thank you for all the stories and all the love little monkey.
love,
your mama

Cold Water Classic

We headed to Santa Cruz today for the surf contest. Both my boys were super excited about watching the surfers. Scott had shown Kekoa the contest on the computer before we left, so he couldn't wait to see the real thing. He likes watching them ride the big waves (his words). Kekoa was also so excited to watch the camera slide back and forth on the cable. Malia was excited to be in the carrier and looking around. She just loved it and couldn't stop giggling. This girl can giggle, reminds me of when I was little and would just laugh and laugh.

Not only was the contest great to watch (the waves were pumping) but the weather was unbelievable. It was so incredibly warm, in the high 70s, unheard of this time of year. The last time we watched a surf contest, out in SF Ocean Beach, it was also super warm. These surfers that have come from all over the world must think we always have incredible weather! They don't even realize how lucky they are.

We picnicked in Lighthouse Field, across from the surf contest.

And what a better way to end our perfect day in Santa Cruz? A stop at the Penny Creamery, of course! Kekoa was all about his chocolate sorbet ice cream, couldn't get enough.

pink lips

Scott took these photos of Malia and she has the rosiest lips!  It looks like she put lip gloss on. :)

Mackie is 2!

Happy birthday little Mackie!

We had so much fun at your party today, in such a beautiful spot.  We love you so much.

Mackie loves Malia....

morning cuddles

Kekoa was having major meltdowns this morning.  What he really needed was some attention.  I found him with his Baba, all snuggled in his bed, reading stories.  Malia wanted to join in on the action too.
