Scott is amazing with the scissors. He gives Kekoa the cutest haircuts. Haircut time is one of Kekoa's favorites. Why? Because he gets to watch a movie ( he doesn't really get screen time on a regular basis), so movie time is a BIG treat. He sits very still while Scott cuts away. He looked like such a little prince, sitting on top of his cushions with such great posture! Such a handsome little boy!
I went in to give Kekoa a kiss, before he took his nap, and I found him laying with all his friends. He was so excited to have them sharing the pillow with him. I swear, it is a good thing Kekoa has such a big bed because his animal friends take up about half of it!
Kekoa loves his present from Santa. He improves so much each time he plays on his tricycle. He always tries to peddle and then will scoot his feet along. He gets going so fast and is also working on how to steer. His favorite thing to say when we go out with the tricycle is, "no help mama. I do it myself!" Scott and I are really impressed with how well he is doing and how quickly he picks up on how do to new things. Go speed racer go!
Today was the best beach day ever. I had to pinch myself that it is the middle of January and I was in a tank top at the beach. Good thing I had dressed in layers. We actually overdressed, it is usually so cold at the beach! Not only was the weather gorgeous, but Scott had the day off, which made it truly the best kind of beach day. We had so much fun, building sand castles, digging, and I even went for a nice long walk by myself. Our little monkey is so content at the beach, he just loves to kick back and dig. It is so relaxing for all of us. Scott made a cool sea turtle that Kekoa couldn't wait to destroy. We are hoping tomorrow is just as nice so we can come back. Perfect beach weather...and we even made it home for Scott to see the kickoff for the 49ers game! ;)
The view to our left... The view to our right... Kekoa was cracking me up, trying to go up the little sand bank. It was really steep and he would slide down on his belly. The beginnings of the turtle...
Making the bumpy shell... Waiting so patiently to run the turtle over. Voila....the finished turtle! Oh goody, now I can drive my truck and destroy the turtle!
Kekoa started last week at the zoo, eating his sandwich like a big boy, not cut up into pieces. We are very proud of him. Today at lunch he wanted to eat his sandwich like a big boy again. It is so cute, watching him pick up the half of sandwich and proudly taking bites. I am SO happy he is finally wanting to feed himself. It makes life just a little bit easier when i don't have to feed Kekoa and try to feed myself at the same time. Scott and I were wondering when this all happened? It is like one day, poof, overnight and Kekoa now feeds himself!
Why are we "The Hapa's"? Hapa in Hawaiian means half. I'm a hapa girl, half Chinese. Together we are the Hapa's, half Hanson and half Parks. The "ha" is pronounced like something is funny, ha, ha, ha. The "pa" is pronounced like the "pa" in papa.
