Two peas in a pod

We had a very relaxing last evening in Bend. We drank refreshing local beers, watched the kiddos play, and went out for scrumptious Vietnamese food. We have had such an amazing time and will really miss everyone.
Delilah and Kekoa are really two peas in a pod, the best of friends.

I love this picture Kathy took of Kekoa.

Tumalo Falls

Our last afternoon in Bend, we spent at Tumalo Falls. What a tranquil place and only a 20 minute drive to get there. It was just gorgeous. Kekoa was so excited because not only did Kathy come with us, but so did Stanley. Scott and I had second thoughts about taking Stanley since he was whining the whole drive out there, he was so excited too. Kekoa also started whining in the car, "mama bao bao", he was extra momtastic today!
20 minutes can seem like a super long time in a car with a whining dog and crabby toddler!
When we arrived, it was all worth it. The falls were raging, all 97 feet of it. It was so gorgeous. There is a short 1/2 mile hike up to the top of the falls, the perfect distance for Kekoa. He hiked the whole way up, didn't want to be carried at all. He kept trucking up, saying "ja yo, ja yo" (literally translated means, "add gas"). We say "ja yo" whenever we are going up a hill in the jogging stroller or the bike. Now Kekoa says it whenever we go up any hill, in the car or even when his trains are going up a hill on his train table. It is very cute.
The falls are so powerful, crashing down onto the rocks below. They create a crazy wind.
The drive back was so pleasant...Stanley was calm and relaxed. Kathy read to Kekoa so he was loving it.
What a wonderful way to spend our final afternoon in Bend.

No fear

Look over there!

Wow...
"bubbles"

Please don't make me leave! Kekoa was having so much fun playing in the dirt, he was filthy. He scooted into this bush, thinking I wouldn't be able to pick him up!

I'm thirsty! Can you see Kekoa's handprint on my chest? :)

Scott and Stanley, heading back to the car.

Bike ride in Bend

This morning we were on our own again, our last day in Bend. We went for a really fun bike ride this morning, out towards the Old Mill. There is a trail that follows the Deschutes River. Kekoa was so excited to be on a bike ride with both his mama and his baba. On the way back though, he cried, all he wanted was his mama to hold him, "mama bao bao" he kept saying over and over again.

"No helmet". Kekoa didn't want to leave the park, not one little bit!

"read choo choo Thomas"

Sunday, July 3
Delilah gave Kekoa a "choo choo Thomas" book and Kekoa can't get enough of it. It was so cute this morning, I peaked around the corner and Delilah was reading the book to Kekoa!

Waiting so patiently for Delilah to turn the page.

Kekoa does hair

July 3
One of Kekoa's favorite things to do was play with Victoria, Delilah's doll. He loved fixing her hair, pretending to cut it and blow drying it. This was just so cute to watch!
Maybe he will be a famous hair dresser one day? What I love is how crazy Kekoa's hair looks! Hmmm, looks like he needs a cut.
