Halloween parade at the library

I am so bad about keeping up with the blog these days.  I've realized I have none of the cute Halloween photos up, none of the pumpkin patches we have visited...but I will soon.  I have some time right now and thought I would at least put up what we did this morning.

Kekoa has been excited about this Halloween parade since last week when I told him about it....very cute.  Instead of his real Halloween costume, he decided to go as a knight.  It was very mellow and low key, just the way Kekoa likes it.  First a couple of stories were read, then the parade, where they got to trick or treat for a healthy snack and finally the kids got to listen to the last story while they had their snacks.  Malia loved it too.  It was a really fun way to start off our Halloween.

Afterwards, the kids got to play outside.  It was a case of the boy chases the girls.  I've never seen Kekoa playing like this, it was adorable.  The girls would look for Kekoa in the tall grass, he would then pop out and they would run away screaming.  He had the funniest look on his face of such enjoyment of "scaring" the girls.  With him in his knight costume it made it even cuter.  Malia was having a great time watching all the craziness going on.

so excited for the parade and that we are on time!

17 months

Dear little girlsie,

Wow, you are getting so big, right before our very eyes.  Let me just say that you couldn't be cuter, your cuteness melts us into a big pool of butter!  Your Ge Ge always says, "There isn't any baby cuter than our little girl.  I don't know how she got to be so cute."

You are definitely our sassy little girl.  You throw fierce tantrums, screaming, crying, rolling on the ground kind of tantrums.  What sets you off the most these days is getting dressed.  If you are not in the mood for it, it can ruin your whole morning.  Speaking of getting dressed, you have started to show some opinions on what you want to wear, especially when it comes to your bows.

You are still a vegetarian.  One night you ate some chicken sausage, I couldn't believe it, but other than that you are strictly a veggie, pasta, cheese, and fruit kind of girl.  You also love quesadillas, which is great because you have one for lunch almost daily.  You are a typical toddler dieter, meaning some meals you a lot or even some days and then not much the next meal or the next day.  You have cut yourself off milk before nap and bedtime...pretty good for us.  We thought that was going to be a hard habit to break but you decided yourself you didn't want it anymore.  You still love having a warm sippy cup full of milk when you wake up in the morning, first thing.

You have been sleeping in...yaya!  We are so happy you aren't getting up at 5:00 anymore.  There have been days that you don't wake up until 7:30, pure heaven.  Of course, those are the mornings that Ge Ge wakes up extra early!  You still love your crib and must have your blankies (yes, both of them), your binky, and your sleep sack.  At night, you love throwing your binkies out of the crib.  We find them all around your crib.  You take one long nap in the middle of the day, usually from around noon to 3:00ish.  I have been trying to push back your nap in anticipation of day light savings time so it has been getting closer to 1:00.  You are usually asleep around 7:00 at night.  You love having stories read to you before bed, I love it because you get all snuggly in my lap.  When I put you in your crib, I give you a million kisses that makes you laugh and laugh, I love it.  Then I sing you a song, which you absolutely love, while I rub your hair, which you love as well.

You are a little performer my dear.  Oh my goodness, music is in your soul and you just love to dance, dance, dance.  You point to the computer and say "agee" (again), meaning you want a song on, preferably "Roar" by Katy Perry...your fave right now.  Anytime a song comes on, even in the car, you say "agee".  We have dance parties daily, usually a few times a day.  You and your Ge Ge really know how to cut a rug!

You are a total mama's girl right now...my little shadow.  You follow me all around the house.  When I am in the shower, you wait for me right outside, usually crying or screaming that I am not holding you.  When I get ready, you are standing right there, going through the bathroom drawers, watching everything that I am doing.  As much as you are a mama's girl, when your Baba comes home from work, you can't get to him fast enough.  If the front door is open, you go right on out, so excited to see him...it is adorable.  When it comes to your Ge Ge, forget it, he is your idol.  You copy everything he does.

some other things you are up to:
-you are obsessed with Halloween decorations.  You say "pumpy" (pumpkin) whenever you see any decorations...not sure what you are going to when it is all said and done.
-you can now really play at the park...climbing the steps and going down the slide all by yourself.  You love this and do it over and over again.   You also love to go super high in the swing, it makes you laugh and laugh.
-you are not a super nice girl right now.  You get really upset if another child comes up to you.  I hope this passes.  And sharing?  Forget it, you don't even like it when someone else is on the playground equipment with you!

I wish I could bottle up this cuteness right now.  I wish this time wouldn't go by so fast, that I could somehow stop time for a little while, just to enjoy it for longer.  I love you so much baby girl.
xoxo

love,
your mama

Thursday fun day in Fremont

The kids and I headed out to see my parents today.  We visited Po Po in the morning and then off to my dad's.  Malia slept the whole afternoon there while Kekoa had a blast playing with Kaiwei and Mackie.  The best part of the day was watching them jumping and throwing the leaf pile.  What kid doesn't like to do that?  Shoot, even I still like to do that!!  It makes me smile just thinking about it.

Kekoa was having so much fun in the sandbox with Mackie.  He couldn't stop laughing....music to my ears.
