Kekoa is such a love. When I came home from work today, he was all snuggles, wouldn't let me put him down. He couldn't get enough kisses and hugs. What a wonderful to come home to!
I love it when I ask him if he just needs some snuggles or hugs when he gets upset and he says, "mmmm, hmmmm."
Sometimes in the middle of eating, he just wants to be snuggled, wants to be hugged so I pop him out of his chair for a few minutes of snuggles. Then he gets right back in his chair and finishes eating!
Tonight when I was getting ready to put on his pj's, he asked me to sing to him. He also wanted me to sing to him in the bath tonight. I love it when he gets out of the bath and hangs onto me for dear life, saying "mama". It is the sweetest thing. Before I put on his pj's, I leaned down to give him a kiss and Kekoa took my face, put one hand on each cheek, and started gently patting my face, while I sang him a whole song. Talk about my heart melting.
Each night in bed, Kekoa asks me to sing to him too. Guess what his favorite songs are? If you guessed Madonna, you are correct. Yes, my little boy loves Madonna. Maybe it is because I sung and played Madonna to him while he was in my belly. His two faves right now are "Lucky Star" and "Isla Bonita". They calm him right down!
I love this snuggly, super affectionate and smoochy phase Kekoa is in right now. I hope this phase takes a super long time to pass. It just seems like right now he gets more snuggly each day. It is the best. :)

Big and small
Kekoa loves that he now understands the difference between big (da) and small (xiao). He will ask for his "da wa wu" (big fire truck) or his "xiao xiao sheepie" (small sheep). It is adorable. I love how he says "da tsao mei" (big strawberry). If he sees that I have strawberries, he wants to eat them whole, not cut up. He was cracking me up tonight at dinner, he is such a cutie patootie.
I had pesto tortellini and zucchini and some chicken for dinner, can you tell?

Cheese!

Kekoa loves his new water bottle. He used it today for the first time during his afternoon snack. He was so excited about it that he didn't even want to get out of his chair, he just kept opening the top, drinking water, and then closing the top.
Kekoa loves his new bibs. He likes to pick which one he wears. Surprisingly, his favorite one is the "mao mao bib" (cat bib) but it was dirty, so he is wearing his car car bib. You can hear him say "fe fe" (airplane) because there are also airplanes on the bib.

playdate with Kasper
Kekoa and I are in a play group with two other really wonderful mama's and their boys, Milan and Kasper. Today only Kasper could come play, Milan took a long nap. Kekoa had a hard time at first sharing his toys, but got better. He also had a hard time sharing his mama. Kasper is such a love and always wants me to snuggle with him (we have music class together too). Kekoa was getting a little jealous and didn't want to share my lap with anyone else! They were playing catch together, well sort of. They would throw the ball at each other and end up hitting each other in the face. :) At least no tears were shed! When I asked Kekoa what his favorite part of the day was, he said "Kaper throw ball up up"!
Thanks for coming over today Auntie Tina and "Kaper".

Can't have it. Kekoa had a really hard time parting with this big button calculator. Luckily I have two of them, but then both Kasper and Kekoa wanted to have both of them instead of sharing!

What do you got going on over there?

Happy Hollow with Kaiwei
Yesterday we met the Fremont crew at Happy Hollow. We hadn't seen Kaiwei, Jiawei, and Jenny since the Children's Fair, over 2 weeks ago! The boys ran to each other like long lost lovers! Kekoa was over the moon to see his "pop pop". We got to feed some sheep and Chloe the cow, then headed off to see the zoo animals. The jaguar was in the tree, looking at the boys like they were a tasty treat. Kekoa loves the meerkats and can even say it now. We can't wait to see them again.

Jiawei looks bigger than Jenny!

Kekoa just loves to sweep!

Bye bye Kaiwei!

Thursday music
We have been going to music class on Thursday afternoons for over a year now! Hard to believe we started when Kekoa was just 8 months old. It is amazing to see how much he has grown and changed and how much he absolutely loves music! When we first started he couldn't even crawl yet! He bops up and down whenever he hears a good beat. He loves to dance, will bust a move whenever the mood strikes him, to whatever kind of music he hears. He asks me to sing to him all the time and is completely mesmerized when I do. It is nice to sing to someone that actually thinks I have a great voice! :)
We love our Thursday afternoons. Kekoa has many friends in music class and they all get to play afterwards, before us mamas head home to get dinner together. It is something we both look forward to each week.
Music class has turned us into a musical family. :)
Kekoa's amazing teacher, Miss Elizabeth.

See, it is the Beatles on my shirt...

Picking out a drum.

I like this one mama!

Hi Noah!

Kekoa and Ty chasing the balls.
Kekoa's friends Ty and Isabella, loving on each other.
Choosing musical instruments.

Kekoa has really been into laying down and snuggling during music. It is adorable. He will lay down and then pat the ground next to him, telling me to lay down with him.
