A little too quiet

When things get quiet, with a toddler in the house, you know something is up, something is not right! Today, Scott and I were in the kitchen and things got a little too quiet. I ran to Kekoa's bedroom, he wasn't in there! Hmmmm, where is my little monkey? Oh shoot, I forgot to shut the bathroom door. There is my monkey, he finally was able to unroll the toilet paper. He has been dying to do this! Not only was there toilet paper everywhere, but he dropped one of his diapers in the toilet. Kekoa loves his diapers because they have Elmo on them. He kept pointing to the toilet saying, "Bubo" (Elmo). He was very upset that Elmo was floating in the toilet! Scott told him, "We have a floater son". Oh, our little monkey!

Oh, wow, so much toilet paper!

Please come out Elmo!

Can I get Elmo out if I lift the lid?
Nope, still in there.

False alarm

Jenny is back at home, sent home from the hospital last night. Everything is ok, but the contractions slowed down.
No new baby brother yet! :)

Last hurrah

My new baby brother will be born any minute now. Jenny is in the hospital, we are anxiously waiting for any news at all. This makes yesterday our last hurrah...the last time we will all be hanging out, in such a relaxed state, for a long time to come. Newborns bring with them so much love but also a little craziness too, if memory serves me right. :)

We had them over to our place for dinner. It was really fun and so nice to have a distraction from the rain, it was such a dreary day. The boys were so busy, reading books, playing with trucks, eating snacks. A special treat was watching Elmo, boy did they both really like that! We also had a dance party, they both love to be in my arms as we dance. Kaiwei especially gets excited for this. We did it the last time they came to visit too. He LOVES it, squeals with delight. They are both so heavy though, so the dancing in my arms doesn't go for very long!

I can't wait to meet my baby brother, to hold his tiny body in my arms, and smell that new baby smell. I wonder what he will look like, will he have black hair and dark eyes, will he look mixed like me, or will he look like Kaiwei? I am so anxious!! I hope that everything goes really smoothly and that Jenny has an easy, quick labor. We love you guys so much!

Very pregnant Jenny!

Elmo is the best!

Going to pull myself to standing...

Kekoa was such a ham for Jenny! He apparently likes taking pictures for her!

Hear Kekoa finally saying "mama"!

I love how Kekoa reaches up for me in this video...

Lovin' my truck pj's

Kekoa and I happened upon these pj's at Costco about a month ago. It was the first time Kekoa has ever cared or gotten excited about clothes. He saw these soft, fuzzy, truck pj's in the mountain of other soft, cozy pj's and started to point and make a vroom sound. When I put them in the shopping cart, he wanted to hang onto them.

Now that the pj's are home and washed, they are Kekoa's favorite thing to wear to sleep. When he sees them, he makes the vroom sound and can't stop staring at his arms and legs, all covered with trucks! Not only does he love wearing them, but if he finds them in the hamper, he takes them out and carries them around...almost like a security blanket! So cute.

Giving the pj's some love.
Off into the kitchen...
Oops, dropped them.

Wah wah

Yesterday I took Kekoa to library story time in the morning. He did such an amazing job, listening to the stories, sitting on my lap so quietly. He clapped his hands during the songs and was having a great time. After the stories, the toys are brought out for all the little kiddos to play with. Kekoa passed on the toys and went straight for all the books. He was in book heaven and waddled over to the shelves while saying, "Oh wow". I love how much Kekoa loves books. He couldn't believe how many books there were, all neatly stacked on the shelves. Of course he had to try and pull them all off the shelf.
I picked out a lot of new books to read at home, stuffed them into our orange library bag, and headed out to the car. It was raining outside and as the rain gently fell onto our face, Kekoa said "wah wah"! When he saw all the rain on top of the car, he said "wah wah". I was soooo impressed he made this connection. I've only heard him say "wah wah" when he wants his sippy cup that is full of water. What a smart little monkey!
