Kekoa goes wine tasting...

Scott and I tried to go wine tasting on Saturday with Kekoa. I say "tried" because it was not a very successful mission. Neither Kekoa or I were feeling our best. My seasonal allergies were acting up and Kekoa was a little cranky from not having a good nap.
Where did we go wine tasting? No, not all the way up to Napa. There are so many wonderful wineries really close to us in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It was Passport Weekend for the local wineries. We purchased our "passports" two years ago, when I had returned from Ecuador. Passport Weekend is four times a year, on the third Saturday of the month. You get a stamp for the wineries you visit and the participating wineries have special tastings or other goodies for us passport holders! :)
We did make it to one tasting at a winery that is only open on Passport Weekends. The view was spectacular but I couldn't stop sneezing! We could see the entire Bay Area! We headed to the second winery, with hungry tummies, to have a picnic lunch. Scott had packed us a really yummy lunch with wine, delicious cheeses, table water crackers, juicy grapes, and even a special treat of chocolate. We drove up the windy steep road to the top of the hill, enjoying the view as we went. When we got there, I was sneezing away, it was really cold and windy, and Kekoa was fussy...so, we had our picnic lunch in the car (which was actually really quite nice) and then headed home. Even though we didn't get to do much wine tasting, it was still so nice to spend the day together as a family. The next Passport Weekend is in April....hopefully we can go again and be in better spirits! :)

Getting ready to go...
Notice Kekoa matches with daddy!
Trying to get a picture of the 3 of us! My eyes are so irritated...can you tell? :)
The view from the winery! Breathtaking!

While we were picnicking in the car, Kekoa wanted to drive us home!

Who wants a free hat?

Free hat? I want a free hat!
Kekoa received this adorable handmade knit hat from one of my friend's from high school! She is amazingly talented and so creative. She has taken her talent and started her own business using her sewing and knitting skills. Everything she does is super original and she uses these really cool vintage fabrics for her stuff. She is actually having a hat giveaway. If you are interested in entering the hat give away, check out her blog. There are super cute hats not only for the little ones, but for adults too!

I love books!

Kekoa loves to have stories read to him. He tries to help turn the pages (well, really he is trying to get the pages in his mouth!) and is very engaged in the pictures. I was getting myself ready and had Kekoa on the bed. He was having so much fun with his book!
Yummy!

Cute and Cuddly

Kekoa is such a cuddly little baby. He loves to snuggle and give kisses too! It is the best when he nuzzles up into my shoulder.

Grabbing my chubba feet!

A short break in the rain today!

After being cooped up in the house all day, Kekoa and I were dying for a break in the rain. We wanted to get outside for some fresh air. After Kekoa's last nap, we got what we wanted, a little blue sky. I hurried up to get Kekoa bundled up before it started raining again! He looked so adorable in his little hat and I was able to take some really funny photos.

All bundled up and ready to go!
I'm very happy about the change in weather! :)
All ready in my B.O.B!

Our walk was really short, there was blue sky in one direction and a huge, black rain cloud blowing in our direction. We made it home just in time...it started raining cats and dogs as soon as we got inside! Even though it wasn't a long walk, it was just what we needed!

Beautiful skies!

The big rain cloud heading our way!
