january beach day

I had the best time with the kids today.  Kekoa's winter break is almost over and we needed to go to the beach at least one more time...especially with this phenomenal weather we are having.  We were all excited to be going to a different beach today too.

We headed over the hill and our first stop was the Natural History Museum.  It was free admission today, which was the real reason why we went. :)  The whale out front was huge hit.  Kekoa needed a little help getting to the top due to his super slick pants.  The inside was a big hit too.  Malia was adorable, showing all the display animals her Happy Feet penguin.  The favorite display was the bobcat.  The kids even came home with little finger puppets, Kekoa chose a bobcat for himself and a little raccoon for his sister.  After our visit to the museum, we headed across the street to the beach.

Maybe from the front?

It was a perfect day...not too hot and not too cold.  The sun wasn't blaring on us which meant we ventured out of the shade of the umbrella.  I had a blast chasing Kekoa the bobcat around on the sand.  There was a lot of laughing and rolling in the sand today.  Malia was the CUTEST thing eating her bagel.  It's the first time she had a topping on her bagel and she just couldn't get enough.  Not only did she thoroughly enjoy eating it, she wouldn't let it leave her side.  She would carry it around with her, which was driving me a little crazy since we were at the beach and there is a lot of sand there!!

Lunch break.  We love The Bagelry so much.

Picnic lunch with Happy Feet

I'll take the one on the left.

I wanted to stay all day at the beach but knew we needed to pack it up before the kids melted down.  I was just inside my window...we made it without any meltdowns.  I love love love the beach and am SO happy that our kiddos are beach babes too.

Malia's strollin' with her stroller

little reader

We had so much fun at library story time today. It was a music together story time.  Both kids were in music heaven.  I can't wait to start music next week with Malia but am very sad not to be taking Kekoa too...it is like the end of an era.

Happy New Year!!

Kekoa and I coming home from the neighbor's party.  He was so excited about this mask!

Another year has just flown by so quickly.  Scott and I were talking about how we really can't believe it is 2014 already!  This is our year of some DIY projects.  We are both super motivated and I have found my new favorite blog to get me inspired to get organized. I am determined to change my ways, slowly but surely.

My first project of the year is going to be making Malia a bow holder, which I have been talking about and talking about but never doing anything about.  I really enjoy being crafty and can't wait to get started.

I also want to try and stay current with the blog.  I do really like it, especially to look back on and remember all the little moments that I tend to forget.  I am also loving Instagram (@thehapas), especially for keeping up with my brother and my niece.

It is a new year, a time for fresh starts...I am inspired!
