Clifford goes to the park

Santa was so kind to Kekoa, giving him Clifford the dog (thank you Auntie M).
We headed out to the park this morning and of course Clifford came along. Kekoa wouldn't let him out of his sight.

your nice mama

To top off a great Christmas day and night, Kekoa was just too sweet when I was putting him to sleep.
He told me "mama, you're nice, you're nice mama" as his arms were locked around my neck in a huge hug.
I almost started tearing up...what a wonderful way to end such a special day.

Christmas evening

After Kekoa's nap (we had to wake him up...he had a tiring morning!), we headed to my mom's house in Fremont for more Christmas celebrating.

Just up from a nap, but I've got Clifford, my party clothes on, and I'm ready to roll!

Snuggling with Uncle Mango.

Kekoa was having fun by himself, before all the other kiddos arrived. I think he enjoyed having it all to himself! :)

Of course he found some trains to play with.

And baby Jiawei came right to me and let me snuggle with him. Well, he's not so much a baby anymore.

Now Kekoa has to share!

Such yummy food. The ravioli's were delicious and the green beans my mom makes are the best.

My two little brothers "being tough guys".

All ready to eat dinner.

Now we are ready to open presents!

No can make Kekoa laugh like Kaiwei can!

Kekoa is eyeballing Kaiwei's dinosaur.

Finally, a cute picture with both Kekoa and Kaiwei smiling! They are both so happy they have dino's!

My mom got these matching dragon robes, since our baby girl is going to be a dragon baby. Don't we look snazzy?

Kekoa had enough picture taking!

Too bad my brother's head got cut off. I love the two little cuties in the front.

Christmas morning

Kekoa was awoken early this morning by someone who can't wait for Christmas morning (that would be baba).
I had gotten up at 4:00 in the morning to use the bathroom, and Scott sat up and said, "what time is it?" He was all ready to get up and open presents!
We fell back asleep until around 6:30ish, when Scott could wait no longer. I love this about him.
We had our plan...that I would put on Kekoa's special "santa helper" pj's and Scott would get the video camera all ready to go, to get his face when he walks out of the room and sees his tricycle.
Kekoa knew it was Christmas and was especially excited when I told him that Santa had left him special pj's to wear on Christmas morning.
We both waddled out, sleep still in our eyes, but Kekoa beelined for his tricycle and immediately wanted to ride it. Well, we took a detour at his stocking, it had a red doggy sticking out of the top (thank you Auntie M), which we promptly named Clifford. Clifford and Kekoa were inseparable all morning.
Kekoa had so much fun this morning. We took our time opening presents, he would open one, then play with it for awhile. We actually aren't done opening them all yet.

Beautiful Christmas morning sunrise.

Kekoa in his new comfy chair...

Some of my Kekoa's new toys...

a new helicopter.

please open it up...

I made Grandma's special breakfast casserole...Scott and I loved it, Kekoa not so much, he opted for cereal.
Oooh, that breakfast casserole is hot!

Scott's favorite cookies from Trader Joe's.

After breakfast, we bundled up for our Christmas morning hike. We headed up the trail to our favorite tree...Kekoa did such an amazing job. He just powers up the hills and is so proud of himself when he makes it to the top by himself.
Kekoa was all pumped up to find the peacock this morning...we didn't see it, but we certainly heard it, which he was very excited about. (Scott and I aren't quite sure if it was the actual peacock making sounds or maybe one of the kids on the trail?)

Sorry Kekoa, we can't take the tricycle with us on the hike.

We love the friendly kitties that greet us as we start on the trail and when we are all done hiking.

hello kitties.

This way...

Rubbing the magic tree.

Running to the top...

almost there...

Christmas has really taken on a completely new meaning now that we have Kekoa. It is so awesome to see the excitement and joy in his eyes. For him right now, it is more about Santa then it is about getting presents.
Kekoa couldn't believe that Santa really left him a cookie ( he was asking for one last night, right before bed).
What a very special time of year.
