Kekoa blows me away everyday with how smart he is, but today he took it to another level. I just have to write this down so I don't forget. We visited a new park today and there was a white Douglas Fir, the kind of tree we chopped down for our Christmas tree. Kekoa saw the tree and said, "baba chie su" (baba cuts down the tree). I was shocked that he would remember. I asked him if he remembered having a Christmas tree and he replied "su home", (the tree was at home). I can't believe he remembers something from so long ago...so impressed.
Seems like he has an elephant memory!

Rainy day in June?
Yes, it was freezing cold and raining today. Well, maybe not freezing, but it was chilly. It matched my mood, gray and gloomy. What did we do on this cold Tuesday? We had many dance parties, rocking out to Madonna, Kekoa's new favorite artist. We played blocks, cars, trains, stuffed animals. We read so many books and snuggled. We all had cabin fever and really wanted to get out. My car was in the shop, getting new tires so we had no way to leave, we were stuck.
Kekoa pulled his toys around, his new favorite thing to do. He likes to watch them as they follow. We also have a cute spider that makes him laugh so hard.

We played ukulele! Kekoa is completely entranced and wanted some lessons himself.

Finally my car was done and we headed out to downtown for some dinner. It felt so good to be outside. Kekoa dug through the basket of shoes to find his "boots", which he had to wear so he could splash in the puddles. When I asked him what his favorite part of the day was, I expected him to tell me about splashing in the puddles, but he said "eat". He liked going out to eat together. So sweet.

train with Baba
This morning Scott and Kekoa went to the park and gave me some time at home. They rode the train and the merry-go-round. I'm so happy they were able to ride the train. It wasn't the steam engine, so Kekoa wasn't afraid...he refuses to ride when it is the steam engine!
Kekoa couldn't wait to get in the front door when they came home to tell me all about it.

peach pop
Today after dinner, I asked Kekoa if he would like a treat. We could go sit on the porch and eat a peach pop. He replied, "Mmmm, hmmm". We were sitting on the porch and then Kekoa decided he would like to sit in the chair! He was so adorable and watching him try to eat this peach pop is the funniest thing. He can't get over how cold it is and takes tiny little licks. When I handed it to him, he grabbed the peach pop and said "coldie"....so cute!
After a couple of licks, he was done....I guess it was too "coldie" to eat any of it. :)

It's "coldie"!

Fun with the choo choo
The train table has been one of the best purchases for Kekoa. He still has so much fun with it. Today he thought it would be fun to take the tracks, lay them on the floor, and put them together. It is the first time he's really been interested in building a track and taking it apart. This brought hours of entertainment, seriously. He sat for over an hour, keeping himself occupied!
(Kekoa likes not wearing his pamper and it works out great for potty training. He'll run to the bathroom and say "pee pee potty" when he has to go!)

I actually took this yesterday. Kekoa was cracking me up with his sound effects while playing. He is saying "this one", in Chinese, over and over.
