Little chatterbox

Kekoa is talking up a storm. I've lost count of how many words and phrases he can say now. Everyday he is saying new things, repeats words and phrases we say. He is up to saying 5 syllable phrases (bye-bye baba car). Two word phrases are no big deal anymore as is multiple syllable words. My favorite word he says right now is "bubble" and yesterday he started saying hippopotamus. "All aboard" is also super cute, he says it with the correct intonation and everything.
Yesterday my dad, Jenny, Kaiwei, and Jiawei came over to help with our move. They played with Kekoa while we packed...such a HUGE help! It is nearly impossible to pack with a little toddler running around, unpacking everything and wanting you to play with them. So last night, when I was putting him to sleep, he was just super excited from spending time with them. He kept saying, over and over, "bye-bye pop pop (papa), bye-bye Ka Ka (Kaiwei), bye-bye baby (Jiawei), bye-bye "ah e" (auntie), while waving his hand bye-bye. It was the cutest thing ever. He has been having a hard time falling asleep at night because he just keeps chatting away, telling me all about his day.
We love his toddler talk, it is melt your heart adorable.

silly monkey

The other night at dinner, Kekoa had me laughing so hard. I got up for a second and when I returned, Kekoa had his bowl on his head...good thing there wasn't anything in the bowl. He thought this was quite funny.
Kekoa's new thing is to eat food off of his high chair like a little dog or cat. He is hilarious! Guess who he learned this from? Yes, little Uncle Kaiwei showed Kekoa how to do this. They were trying to eat blueberries off the floor the other day!

Kekoa is saying "Oh no" because he has food on his arm. He doesn't like to have food on his hands or arms at all!

My tool box

Jiu jiu (uncle Erik) got Kekoa this mega blocks tool box for Christmas. He has been super excited about playing with it lately, loves putting all the blocks together and practicing hammering! Thank you jiu jiu!

Concentrating so hard!

My friend Annika

Today we drove up to San Francisco to visit Auntie Jen, Annika, and her new baby brother Benjamin. I can't believe Jen is now a mama of 2 little ones. She is an amazing mom and looks fantastic. I don't know how she does it!
Kekoa was such a trooper in the car, didn't fuss at all on the way up. He was so content listening to his music and checking out the gorgeous scenery on 280. When we pulled up, Annika was looking down at us and waving from their living room window. Kekoa thought this was so funny and couldn't wait to go inside to play with his "friend" (yes, he does day friend now, it is the cutest). We have only been to their house one other time, but Kekoa remembered where all of Annika's toys were. He headed straight back to her bedroom, totally comfortable there, not shy at all. Annika was so sweet about sharing all of her toys. These two played really well together.
Benjamin is a little angel, he nursed when we first got there and then slept the rest of the time, quiet as a mouse.
We had such a great visit, thank you guys! I really wished we lived closer!
On the way home, Kekoa fell asleep in the car, but only for 30 minutes. I thought, "Oh great, a long grumpy afternoon with my monkey", but I was wrong. After getting home, 30 minutes after he woke up from his power nap, we went into the bedroom to lay down and rest. I sung him a lullaby and he fell back asleep, for almost 2 more hours!! He didn't wake up until almost 4:00!
Wow!

Believe it or not, Annika is 2 years old. She will be 3 next Saturday, but she is a tall little girl. It was pretty funny to see her standing next to Kekoa, he looked extra tiny!

Going in for a smoochie!
Kekoa remembered this toy from last night and couldn't wait to play with it again.

say cheese!
I realized after we left that I didn't even get a picture of Benjamin...I'm telling you, quiet as a mouse!

Shirtless

Kekoa had to come into the kitchen and show me how cute he was with baba's hat on. He looked so adorable in his little plaid Hurley shorts and his belly popping out. :)
