Kevin Moran Park with baba

Friday, March 4

Scott had the day off today, which is always wonderful. Kekoa and I took him to our favorite park, it was his first time there. Kekoa showed off many of his skills today, impressing both Scott and I. He was so proud of himself too. This play equipment at Kevin Moran park is just the perfect size for Kekoa.

Here comes the monkey! This was Kekoa's first time climbing this, he did it over and over and over again!

So proud!

Chillin' with baba!

Thursday, March 3

Kekoa got to borrow this toy from a boy at Oak Meadow this morning. He was in seventh heaven...to have his mama and baba at the park together, plus getting to play with this amazing truck...heaven!

My favorite face...that lip is too cute. He is making car sounds here.
Scott can always make Kekoa laugh so hard. I love watching the two of them together. He is running in front of the swing, almost letting Kekoa "get" him. Kekoa thought this was the funniest thing ever.
What's for lunch?
A pizza pie!
Mmm, delicious!
All aboard!
Kekoa likes to climb into the front of the train. It is pretty cute to see him sitting in there.

Mr. Independent

Saturday, March 5

Scott told me, before he left for work, to take Kekoa to the park and ride the train. They were unable to go this morning, so that is exactly what we did. When he woke up from his nap, I asked Kekoa if he wanted to go find the train, and he waddled over to the front door, ready to put on his shoes and get out of here! We were so lucky because we got to ride the last train of the day. Afterwards, we went for a walk. Kekoa walked a long way, was so fascinated with walking on the railroad tracks...all by himself. He also loved "climbing" into the railroad tracks. He did this over and over again. He climb in and then walk around to climb in again.

We walked over to the other park and to find the ducks. He kept calling them, "ya ya" (duck), just like he calls his car...it was so cute. After playing a bit on the playground and saying hello to the "ya ya", I put Kekoa in the stroller to walk home. He didn't even protest..my boy was pooped out!

So drawn to the water...

I never get tired of watching Kekoa walk across this bridge. There is just something about it that makes me feel at peace.

Heading back around to climb over the wood again!

Heading towards the ducks!

He's back

Oh, my sweet baby boy is back, well at least for the past two days. These past couple of weeks have been tough. Kekoa wasn't himself or was it going to be the new toddler him? He was so emotional, would throw tantrums for the smallest little things. It was like the end of his world if the book opened to the wrong page or his car wouldn't go into the castle...complete meltdown. I was thinking, "uh-oh, the 2's have come a little early for my little monkey". He did have the cards stacked against him though, he hasn't been feeling 100%, probably not getting enough good sleep, which makes anyone cranky. Today he actually woke up with his normal smiley face and he was being goofy, which is what I have been missing!
I am so relieved that he has been his normal happy self, at least for a couple of days. We shall see what tomorrow brings.

Concentration

I love watching Kekoa play with this toy. He concentrates so hard and will play with it for a long long time, all by himself. He also likes to take it and sit on the floor with it. He has gotten really good at manipulating the beads and figuring out how to make them move smoothly. It is really something to watch Kekoa take interest in toys that he's had for a long time and actually figure them out!
