It's been a long time

We hadn't been to the Children's Discovery Museum in ages! The weather wasn't that great this afternoon so Kekoa and I headed out to the "da ya ya" (big duck) place. He was super excited to go, went to sit by the door and put on his shoes. Every time we go, he explores this place in a different way. What amazed me the most this time was that when we were in the room with all the books to read, Kekoa remembered this one with cars from the last time. He was getting really upset, saying "car su" (car book) over and over. I finally remembered what he was what talking about, but we couldn't find it anywhere.
I love it...getting a membership here has definitely been worth it.

Ooooh, ambulance!
Checking out some big boys...

Kekoa loves looking at all the things in the display cases, especially this old fire truck.

This is one of Kekoa's favorite rooms. He loves seeing the shadow this merry-go-round casts on the walls.

He also loves this room. It is lined up with all kinds of different objects that make different sounds when pushed. Of course Kekoa loves the truck! But he also loves walking to each of the objects and pressing them over and over again.

Kekoa was so little compared to the other kids playing in the sand area. He just wiggled his way in!

Another chance to drive another car!

Making healthy pizza. Yum!

Climbing the stairs to the...
stagecoach. It is really cool, they have real Wells Fargo stagecoach.

This was my Kekoa's favorite and definitely my favorite part of the whole trip. Kekoa discovered this air blower on the way out. The museum was closing and this is by the exit. He loved putting his face up to the blower. I kept telling him to do it again, and he couldn't get enough. It was so adorable!

trains, trains, and trains

It seems like on Wednesday mornings there is always something going on that Kekoa and I miss, something fun that he can go to. On Wednesday mornings, I am usually in Santa Cruz, doing Pilates, but today I was home. This meant we could join in on the fun. We all went (baba too), to this amazing, crazy, building full of excitiment. There were toys all over, a room for art, and two jumpy houses. Kekoa was in 7th heaven, but beelined for the cars and the trains. He also headed over to the play house and fiddled around in the kitchen. He looked so cute playing with the trains. When another kid would come and take the trains from him, he would just go and find a different train to play with. I keep waiting for him to throw a fit...one of these days, I know it's coming!
Kekoa...I see a train table in your future! :)

tuesday playdate

It was so nice this morning. We went to a playdate at Kekoa's friend, Noah's house. He has a really great house, huge yard with a beautiful garden. Kekoa had a lot of fun running around with the other boys. He couldn't wait for one of the boys to drop this little push thing. Once he saw it was free, he beelined for it and couldn't stop running up and down the driveway with it. Thank you for the really fun morning Noah!

Turning it around...

I love how Noah says "Kekoa". It is so sweet, he has the sweetest smile.

Finger puppet monsters

The other day we took Kekoa to this really fun store, Affordable Treasures. True to its name, this store is filled with all kinds of fun treasures. These little monster finger puppets were only 15 cents each! Kekoa was having so much fun with them tonight. We called Papa Beezy and Kekoa put them up to the phone to show him and Kaiwei...so cute!

Look what I got Papa Beezy!

Really gone

I keep waiting for this feeling to pass, this ickiness in my heart, but it is lingering on. Maybe if I can get these feelings out, the ickiness will pass.
It started off like any other morning, we got up, did our morning "stuff" and headed out the door for a walk to the park. We turned the corner of our carport and our hearts sunk. Our B.O.B. stroller was gone, STOLEN, from our carport! Who would do such a thing, steal from a child and a family, struggling to make it here during these hard economic times???
It makes me so sick that someone would do this. I feel so let down, so disappointed that someone would do this. They knew what they were looking for, just took our stroller and nothing else...like a steal and dash. They were in such a hurry that Kekoa's blanket fell out in their hasty get away. We found it in the carport along with some other loose change that fell out too.
I used that stroller more than my car...it was my outlet, like my gym membership. It was such a comfy ride for our little monkey. We keep turning the corner of the carport and expecting to see it again.
The police came to take a report, but I'm thinking it has almost been a week now and no word. All I know is someone out there has really bad karma coming their way.
