Those kind of mornings

Sometimes the best mornings are the ones where we do nothing at all. This morning was one of those kind of mornings. Kekoa woke up around 5:00 a.m. with a fever, so uncomfortable. I gave him some Tylenol, we changed his diaper and into some cooler cotton pj's. He fell right back asleep, but had to be sleeping right on my chest. He slept for 4 more hours!
He woke up again around 9:00 and we just laid in bed, snuggling, resting, and waking up slow, until around 10:00!

We finally got out of bed. He was feeling much better and we all started playing cars, all of us...me, Scott, and Kekoa. Kekoa was being the cutest, making sounds, driving his cars all over. He was so happy to have us both home and playing together.
After brunch, Kekoa was tired. He came to get me in the kitchen telling me he wanted me, saying "mama mama". I picked him up and started slow dancing with him. He rested his head on my shoulder and started to relax as we swayed to the music of Slightly Stoopid (I know, funny name , but great music). Scott is so smart, went and got the bed ready and then asked Kekoa if it was nap time. Kekoa jumped into his arms...sweet dreams Kekoa. Thank you for such a wonderful morning.

Try it baba, you'll like it.

This morning Kekoa is trying to scoop up the rainbow on the rug!

It never ceases to amaze me how much Kekoa LOVES books. He is reading here to baba, one of his favorite Richard Scarry books, "Cars and Trucks and Things That Go"

Kekoa just woke up...he is looking for "car car"

Early morning dancing...

Cleaning up. Check out his little lip when he makes his car sounds.

Kekoa never ceases to impress me. There is a page in one of his books of a fall scene, leaves falling. When we get to this page, we sing one of the songs from music class, "leaves are falling, gently falling, falling to the ground". I've been leaving out the word "ground" and Kekoa fills in and says ground, with a huge grin on his face, and makes his hands fall like the leaves! It is awesome.
(Just a disclaimer...don't judge me on my singing. Miss Elizabeth, our music teacher, has informed me that even if I sing off key, Kekoa can still learn to sing in tune! )

Kekoa is playing the "no no no" game, where he pretends he's going to throw something off the highchair. We say "no no no" and he thinks this is really funny. Then I ask him what he's eating and he pushes the pear to the front of his mouth to show me. Pear is "Li" in Chinese. He has also been copying everything we do. I coughed and then he copies me and coughs. So cute.

Pretend

Kekoa is all about playing make believe right now. It is awesome to see him using his imagination. Last night in the tub, we had a bubble bath. He had his little "bubble shovel" and would scoop up the bubbles and then we would pretend to gobble them up. He was so cute, making the sound of eating, but not slurping any of the the bubbles into his mouth.
He also like to pretend to eat tanbark at the park. He makes tanbark pies and shares them with me. :)
It will be exciting to see how his imagination grows.

Little helper

Kekoa loves to help. One of his favorite things to do is put his dirty clothes in the hamper! How cute is his little tush? First the clothes go in the hamper and then bath time! :)

3 words

I don't want to forget. Tonight was the first time Kekoa strung three words together! He was in his highchair, finishing his dinner. I asked him if he was ready for his bath and he said, "mama bubbles wawa"! Oh my! I can't believe it...what a smartie pants!
