new couch

Our wonderful previous neighbors, the Koch's, gave us their couch!! It is the best couch, super cushiony and even has a chaise lounge, which I am sitting in right now and where Kekoa and I had our marathon reading, cuddle session today. When Kekoa woke up from his nap, i told him we had a new couch...he waddled into the living room and said, "oh wow". I lifted him up and let him experience how comfy the couch...he definitely agreed. He sat cross legged with Paulie next to him and relaxed. It was so cute. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the couch! We L.O.V.E. it!

Kekoa already knows he has to turn around to get off the couch...such a smartie.

Big boy at the park

Kekoa has become a completely new child at the park. He has gone from not being that interested in the play equipment to only wanting to climb and explore the play equipment. It is the most amazing thing to now see him, crawling up the stairs, sliding down the slide, climbing into the train. Yesterday he even climbed onto the little benches inside the train, which was freaking me out because he didn't realize how high up he was. He hasn't quite mastered the climbing down part yet, pretty scary for mama!! I am so proud of him. Now we can really go explore and find new parks to play at!

A little playing with baba in the patio before the park...

Bye-bye Buddha!

Ready for the weather shield people, let's make this happen.
This is one of the best purchases we have made this year. It is a weather shield and keeps Kekoa toasty warm, even if it is freezing outside. It is so warm in his little cocoon, that many times he takes his hat off. I reach my hand in there, just to check the temperature, and wish I could crawl in there too! It is great when we are walking or when I'm running...keeps the cold air off of him.
Off to the "toot toot"

Brush it off, brush it off...
Whew, that was a lot of work...but I made it in the train! It was all worth it!

So much fun in here guys!!

Let's go on the slide...
Before Kekoa climbs the stairs to the slide, he always has to walk under this yellow archway. It is really cute to see him squeezing under with his cap on!

Here I come!!

Whew, made it!
Daddy wants a turn too!

Just give me a book please...

It must have been a reading kind of day. Kekoa was super into his books today, more than he usually is. I kept finding him in his bedroom, reading a book. Scott and I absolutely love this, finding our little man reading books on his own. He kept telling me "su" (book) all day long.
One of the books he was reading today had a picture of a tree. He would point to the tree (also "su" but a different tone). He then started pointing to the light switch by the door and say "bye-bye su" and then point to the corner where the Christmast tree used to be...remembering that is where we would turn on the switch to turn on the Christmas tree lights! Such a smartie pants.

One of his favorite places to read is his highchair!

Where's Kekoa?
There he is!

Such a toddler

Kekoa is so funny. Today he had more energy than ever. I was chatting on the phone, not giving him my 100% attention and when I looked around, it was like a tornado had hit our place. All the tupperware had been pulled out, he had taken the watering containers and they were scattered all about, and I found him "sweeping" the carpet with his dustpan and whisk broom. Time to go to the park!!
This was a very good idea. Kekoa ran all over the place, climbed on the equipment, the train, the fire truck, and even ventured over into the "big kids" part of the playground and climbed all over that too. His favorite part of the park? Sitting on mama's lap and speeding down the big kids slide! Boy did he think this was funny!
When we got home from the park, I started cooking dinner. I kept peaking around the corner, Kekoa was either playing with his toys or reading. I noticed at one point that he had shut his bedroom door and it was kind of quiet (never a good sign). I went back there and knocked, saying "Kekoa". He ran to the door as I was trying to open it, a huge grin on his face, and put his arms out to stop the door, like he didn't want me coming in. Well, Kekoa had decided that it would be a good idea to take out all the baskets on the changing table...his socks were everywhere, hats sprinkled all around and burp clothes were spewing all about! It was really funny, like he knew he wasn't supposed to be making such a mess and didn't want me to see it.
I couldn't stop laughing as we both cleaned it up!
