Library books

October 23

Kekoa loves his library books. I found him sitting on his bed, going through the orange bag I bring to the library, taking out all his new books! It is so amazing that he knows this is the book bag. He was very excited for the new books!

Uh-oh

Kekoa has started saying "Uh-oh" this month. He was saying just "uh" for the longest time. It is really cute. When he drops something, I hear "uh-oh"! It is so awesome to hear Kekoa starting to talk! He is totally bilingual too. He understands both English and Chinese. Some words he'll say in English, some in Chinese, but he completely understand both. Scott an I are super impressed!

let me try this on...

Kekoa really loves to put on his daddy's hats! He is especially fond of this beanie.

OK, enough.

I love balloons

Kekoa is obsessed with helium balloons. Whenever he sees them, he points and says "ba ba". You'd be surprised at how many places helium balloons pop up, at Trader Joe's, in the park, in front of different stores, all over the place.
The coolest thing has happened. Last Friday night, Kekoa made a connection with the balloon in his story, "Good night Gorilla" and the helium balloon out in the living room. We were reading his story before bed, he pointed to the balloon in the book and then pointed to the living room. He got up, off my lap, and waddled into the living room to find his balloon! Every night since then, he has been doing the same thing and we say good night to his balloon. It is SUPER amazing! Such a smart little boy!

November beach day?

Yes, absolutely! It was the perfect beach day today, I had to pinch myself, I mean it is November 2nd. It is not supposed to be in the 70's at the beach! We were all dressed in shorts and short sleeves! Kekoa hasn't been to the beach since Hawaii, boy did he miss it! The waves were pumping and as we walked across the beach, feeling the soft, warm sand between our toys, Kekoa exclaimed, "Oh wow"! He was in absolute heaven, had so much fun cruising around on the sand, exploring, chasing seagulls, picking up pieces of kelp, and big clumps of sand. He really wanted to get into the frigid ocean, so Scott took him in and let him get his toes wet. It was his first time at the beach as a walker and boy did he take advantage of it! I loved watching him, seeing him so happy!
As I sat on the beach, watching my son waddling after his daddy, all I could think was, life is really good and I am really happy right now. What a perfect way to spend our afternoon.

What is this?
Is it kelp mama?
I'm going to use this piece of kelp as a shovel!

And he's off...
Mama chasing her little monkey!
I got him!
Searching for kelp. We found some very cool pieces that had barnacles on them!

Look what I found daddy!

We had fun playing in the sand together. I kept burying his little feet in the sand. Kekoa thought this was very funny!
