Spaghetti

Kekoa discovered the joy of eating spaghetti this evening. I have been waiting for this moment, the moment of having red sauce and noodles everywhere. Kekoa has never been much into noodles, until tonight! I heated up left over spaghetti and meatballs I was cutting up meatballs for Kekoa and he kept pointing to the container containing the noodles. I thought he wanted to pick up his own meatballs, but he went right for the noodles, grabbing a huge handful and shoving it into his mouth! It was so cute and amazing to watch him just stuffing himself. He was super hungry from swim lessons and he hasn't been eating much the past couple of days. After he polished off all the spaghetti noodles, he decided to help me eat my mac and cheese. What a hungry little monkey!

Sure I'll have some more noodles mama!

Yay spaghetti!

He's finally here

Guess what? I have 3 brothers now, how weird is that!? Jiawei Parks was born this morning, 12:17am. He is a big boy, 8 pounds, 4.8 oz! No wonder why Jenny's belly was so huge. He is so cute, so sweet and cuddly. He is very alert, eyes open and checking everything out. He also has a lot of really dark hair, not only on his head, but also on his back. It is all dark and fuzzy! I had completely forgotten how small a newborn is. Jenny and I were joking that we don't remember how to hold a newborn! I love breathing in all the newborn smell.
We all went to the hospital this morning. Scott and I took turns going into the room. Kekoa has fun in the hospital, there is a really nice area outside for him to explore. This afternoon, after Kekoa's nap, we went back to the hospital. This time my dad and Kaiwei were there too. Kaiwei's whole face lit up when he saw me walk in. He came running into my arms, such a sweetie pie. I asked him if he liked his baby brother, he said yes. I asked him if he thought he was cute, he said yes. Then Kaiwei informed me that his baby brother didn't want to drink any milk, he didn't like it! Kekoa and Kaiwei played with my dad while I went in to see Jiawei again. He was nursing this time so I didn't get to hold him. He was so sweet, all snuggly with his mama. Jenny is doing great, doesn't seem like she just gave birth or anything!
Kekoa was pretty bummed to leave, he was having so much fun playing in the rocks. Kaiwei also didn't want us to leave, but we have swim lessons today. Jenny and Jiawei will come home tomorrow. Yay!

Big brother!
Jiawei's nephew! :)
Here comes trouble...these two thought tipping over this chair was the funniest thing ever. They were working together to tip it! As my dad and I explained to them, it was funny the first time, not the tenth time!

Halloween night

We were planning on going trick-or-treating around 4:00 on Tait street. Tait street is famous for its Halloween festivities, I've been wanting to go there for years now. We've lived here for 4 years and still haven't made it there. But plans change, baby brothers want to be born :)
Instead, after dinner, Kekoa put on his monkey suit (which he really loves to wear) and we went for a walk on our street. The complex down the way had a haunted graveyard all set up (the same complex where Bella the cat lives). There were all sorts of spooky jack-o-lanterns, headstones, and other Halloween paraphernalia. Kekoa enjoyed the walk very much, stopping to check out all the plants. The big hit of the evening was finding a grate.
When we got to the haunted graveyard, Kekoa wasn't scared at all. He actually went right for the skulls and wanted to play with them. All that changed when someone came out with a scary mask, asking if we wanted some candy. My poor monkey got so scared, started crying and jumped into my arms. He calmed right down though when he saw Bella the kitty come say hello. Even though we didn't go trick-or-treating, Kekoa and I had a memorable Halloween evening.

Monkey on the loose...

What is this amazing thing I see?
Can I mama?

Oh my, the haunted graveyard!

Kekoa had so much fun at the haunted graveyard, playing with the skulls and petting the stuffed spiders! He wasn't scared of these at all.
