Very busy boy

Kekoa is very busy all the time. He is busy cruising, busy crawling very fast, busy reading books, busy playing with his stuffed animals, busy banging his tug boat around, and very busy with his blue hippo. The blue hippo keeps our little man entertained for a long time. He has so much fun putting things in it and taking them back out. It is especially funny to watch him take Paulie in and out. I love how after he takes everything out, Kekoa likes to stand in the back of it too. It is like he trying to waterski with it or something. What I am most impressed about is that Kekoa has learned how to turn the hippo. No more screaming. He can even turn it into the kitchen!! He has also figured out that he can push it from the other end to go the other way. What a smartie!

Watcha doin' daddy?

I like how he is resting on the hippo! Taking a little breather from being so busy!
Off and running.

Listen to how Kekoa says moose, it is a grunt!

I LOVE salmon

Kekoa is actually a picky eater. Oh no! How did this happen? I don't know because he doesn't like carbs (are we sure this is my baby?) so right now he is on a salmon and turkey meatloaf rotation. These are the two foods (knock on wood) that he will eat at dinner. He just loves them both. It is the cutest to watch him grab the chunks off his tray and stuff them in his mouth. He gets really exited to eat when he sees the pink salmon on his tray! He does love veggies and fruit (yes, he is definitely my baby!) especially green peas. Last night I gave him a green bean again. This time he actually ate it. :) We were having a lot of fun at dinner time. I love how goofy Kekoa is and his laugh. We were playing peek-a-boo with the bib and he thought this was the funniest thing ever! (Thank you for the sticker on my cheek Ava! You are the best!)

Kekoa always sits with his feet crossed!

Where did that piece of food go?

Moo baa la la la

What a smart little monkey we have! He is reading some of the book "Moo Ba La La La"! It is really amazing. He knows the page with the pigs that says la la la. When I turn to the page, Kekoa will finish up reading it. Then the other page he recognizes says "Bow wow wow". It is really cute when he says it too, his voice gets really soft, almost like he's embarrassed or something. Tonight at bedtime it was the first time that Kekoa picked out the book he wanted me to read to him and guess which one it was. Yes, Moo Ba La La La. We read it about 4 times before lights out. He was so excited to be reading that he babbled himself to sleep, saying la la la and all kinds of other sounds. We are so proud of you Kekoa!

Where is that page I'm looking for?
Here it is, "Some other dogs go BOW WOW WOW!"

My morning with Kekoa

The past couple of mornings, when we finally roll out of bed, Kekoa is beside himself. Why is he so excited? He sees Mr. Pickles or Gorilla or Paulie or all 3 of them in the living room and he can't contain his excitement. This morning he was being extra cute. He actually squealed delight when he saw Mr. Pickles. He started wrestling around with him and giving him kisses. It was like he was telling him all about his night sleep and asking Mr. Pickles how he slept.
Then I brought out Gorilla and he started wrestling with him too! Kekoa had a lot of fun playing with his buddies this morning! When I watch him play, he amazes me. He really is 1 year old and acting like it too. He is so much more into playing now, well I guess it is that he plays differently. I can see his imagination working its magic!

I'm going to get you Gorilla!

Hmmm, how many fingers can I fit in these nostrils?

I love Gorilla...

And Mr. Pickles too!

Give me a lap!

Yesterday Kekoa started doing the cutest thing. One of his favorite books right now is Richard Scary's Giant Word Book, he loves the page with the moose. I think it is because the moose in the picture looks like Mr. Pickles. Anyways, Scott grabbed the book and Kekoa crawled over to his lap and then snuggled right in, all by himself! It is just too sweet.
