Scott and I had quite the comedy show today during Kekoa's dinnertime! I gave him a piece of watermelon and boy did he LOVE this! He held the piece and then he tried to stuff the whole thing in his mouth. It was hilarious. He had watermelon juice dripping out of his mouth, down his chin, and onto his belly. He was so excited about all this watermelon that he even started clapping! His diaper turned a beautiful shade of red from all the juice! There was a nice collection of watermelon pieces on the seat of his highchair when he was all done. He was a sticky mess and went straight into the tub with daddy after dinner. I LOVE this stuff! I'm all done mama, hear me roar! What, you didn't hear me? let me scream again! A seat full of watermelon!
Oh the sweetness of having an 11 1/2month old baby boy. He has been momtastic all day, just wanting his mama. At bedtime, we were doing our normal routine, he was nursing and I was rubbing his back like I always do. Then all of a sudden, Kekoa sat up, turned around, rested his head on my thigh and put his arms around my leg, like he was giving me a huge hug. As my heart was melting, he gave me a kiss on my leg! He repeated this about 5 times, sitting up, resting his head on my thigh and then hugging and kissing my leg. I could feel him telling me how much he loved me, it was just so sweet. When he was done, he crawled up on my chest, rested his head one last time, and then rolled off and went to sleep! Oh, if only every night was like this! I love our little baby more and more with each day..is that possible?
Kekoa is so amazing! Within a day, he mastered stacking up his stacking cups. I think he is going to be right handed because he uses his right hand the most for playing. He hasn't figured out size yet, that the small one has to go into the big one. If he has a bigger one in his hand, he gets very frustrated that it won't fit into the smaller cup! Then comes the scream, the piercing scream that makes my ears ring. As long as I give him a smaller cup, it is all good! I am so proud of him! Last one in! I am so smart! :)
Sunday was a one nap day for Kekoa. What were we going to do for the afternoon with our boy that is so full of energy? We took Kekoa to the Children's Discovery Museum in San Jose. This is the perfect place for our boy with all the energy! He has been there once before, when he was just a little baby and spent the day in the carrier. This time it was so much different. He LOVED this place. There is a special area just for little kids and a special room for crawlers. It was so fun to watch him explore and roam. We only stayed for an hour or so because our one nap baby hit the wall. We will definitely be going back soon though. Next time we will have him get wet in the water area!
I love Kekoa's little face in this picture. He is concentrating so hard. Throwing the balls down the spiral with daddy! Kekoa had so much fun crawling back and forth underneath the dragon! Oooh, big purple blocks! So much fun! Another tunnel! Made it. This was Kekoa's favorite thing to play with, the red wooden triangle and this table with "fish" in it. It looked like an aquarium. He kept gravitating toward it and would pound the wooden triangle on it. Another baby joined in on looking at the fish and Kekoa was so excited to share his triangle that he bonked the poor little boy on the head. There were a lot of tears and I couldn't stop apologizing! I felt so bad. I love these pictures of Scott and Kekoa climbing the stairs together!
Why are we "The Hapa's"? Hapa in Hawaiian means half. I'm a hapa girl, half Chinese. Together we are the Hapa's, half Hanson and half Parks. The "ha" is pronounced like something is funny, ha, ha, ha. The "pa" is pronounced like the "pa" in papa.
