I know how to spit!

Kekoa is experimenting with spitting out his food these days. He is getting really good too. Today he was actually spitting out big chunks at dinner, instead of just spraying food everywhere. It doesn't mean he's done eating either, just wanting to spit. I've been holding the spoon in front of his mouth to keep the food from going all over the place. It is hard not to laugh! :)

A series of funny faces while Kekoa was eating today...

Some more spraying food...

Cat's Hill

Cat's Hill is a very exciting bike race that takes place here in Los Gatos. The bikes go around a course through the neighborhoods. The steep, short climb is Cat's Hill...and it is REALLY steep. The bicyclists are so amazingly strong and fly up the hill. I always get this rush of adrenaline with the cyclists go past...it is just so exciting! There are many different groups of racers. The fastest ones race at the end of the day, 4:25 pm was their start time. Kekoa and I came back, after his afternoon nap, to watch the rest of the races. The bikers go so fast they create wind!
My dad is a bike official for Cat's Hill and has been for years. I remember coming to visit him to watch the race way back when I was in college! Now, it is a tradition for Scott and I to go too. This was Kekoa's first Cat's Hill race and he really enjoyed himself. He loved watching the bikes whizzing by and all the new sounds.

Ready to go guys...Kekoa wearing my sunglasses!
Papa Beezy enjoying his ice cold root beer treat that we brought for him!

We feel so important at the race. We all get to go "backstage" and walk up on the platform to stand next to my dad. It is the best place to watch the racers finishing. I usually ring the bell, indicating the last lap, but not this year. I was holding Kekoa and didn't want to hurt his little ears!
It was a gorgeous morning. We had a picnic lunch before Scott had to go to work. We wanted to have a picnic lunch last year, when I was pregnant and Scott was in nursing school, but it was raining. Things sure have changed for us in a year!

Racers speeding around the corner...

Go racers go!
Such a fun day!

While we were having our picnic, Kekoa was practicing his yoga moves...."child's pose". He was cracking us up!

I love my magazines!

Kekoa had a very busy Saturday morning! He absolutely loves pulling himself up to get a closer look at a family photo that was taken when he was 15 days old. After a few times of pulling himself up, Kekoa noticed the Crate and Barrel catalog. It was all over for the catalog, it had no chance once it got into his hands. Who knew it was so much fun to tear apart a magazine? I remember when Kaiwei used to do this too!

Gotta get to that pictures...
I'm up!
I love my family!

Hmmm, what looks good?

Silly monkey in the bath

Kekoa loves his bath time. Yesterday he had an especially great time and daddy was home to take some pictures. It's pretty amazing since he can totally sit up by himself in the tub now!
What? I'm not in trouble am I?
So happy!
Splashing is the best!

Getting water everywhere!
All over my face too!

Special Visitors from far away!

We had some special visitors last week. Grandpa and Grandma visited from Texas and Uncle Tim came up for a quick visit from Santa Monica. Even being sick with roseola, Kekoa was still a trooper and super cute. He was very excited to see everyone.

Hello Grandpa!
All weekend Kekoa was after Grandpa's glasses.
Hmmm, look pretty good!
Tasty!

Grandma giving me some dinner. Yum!

Poor Kekoa. I didn't realize he was sick yet and kept subjecting him to all this photo taking!
Enough mama!
So cute, look at the toys resting on Kekoa's chest as he gets story time from Grandpa.

Fun at the Purple Onion.
A beautiful day in Santa Cruz...
Love you and hope to see you soon...
