Guess who is 4 months old today?

Look, I can hold the sign!I can't believe how fast time is flying by! Our little boy is growing and changing so fast right before our very eyes! I was looking through all the photos last night that are in iPhoto and can't believe how small Kekoa was! He was tiny! It is so exciting to see him become more and more alert. He gets so excited himself when he learns or discovers something new. He is learning all kinds of new sounds and isn't shy about expressing himself. He makes Scott and I smile and laugh everyday. We can't imagine what life would be without our little guy...he brings us so much joy!
Grapes please!

How did we spend his 4th month birthday? Well, luckily Scott has the weekend off so we were able to spend the whole day together. We all went on Kekoa's first hike on the steep creek trail. This is the same trail that I ran up and then walked up almost everyday while pregnant. Scott and I wanted to take Kekoa up to our favorite magical Manzanita tree. Manzanita trees are a gorgeous native California tree with a deep, dark red bark. I used rub my big 'ol prego belly on the red tree bark, hoping the magic would rub off! Scott and I believe the magic did its thing to bless us with such a healthy, happy, and mellow baby...all the things we were crossing our fingers for! I carried Kekoa in the Ergo and Scott was such a trooper and pushed our BOB stroller for the entire hike! Of course Kekoa was napping in the Ergo the entire time and didn't need the ginormous stroller while hiking! He did miss seeing the tree, but I rubbed his little mitten covered hand on the smooth, red bark.

All ready for hiking!

The magical tree...

After our hike, we all went out to lunch at a really cozy restaurant downtown, The Wine Cellar. Kekoa was up and so good, just chilled in his stroller the whole time, playing with his toys and taking in all the lights and Christmas decorations. He just loves looking at all the Christmas lights everywhere.

When we got home, I sang and played the ukulele for him. He absolutely loved it. I took ukulele lessons while pregnant and used to play with the ukulele resting on my expanding belly. Unfortunately, I have forgotten almost all the notes! :(
Kekoa didn't seem to mind that my playing and singing were awful...he was still entranced!

Mom, you are AMAZING!
We think he had a great birthday and enjoyed spending the day together!

I love how mommy sings and plays. Doesn't she have a beautiful voice? :)

I want to hold my own birthday sign!

It is my birthday today! I just learned a new sound yesterday but have forgotten how to make it today! The first thing I did this morning when I woke up was try and make the sound...I kept trying all day. It will come to me again!

I love my giraffe friends, Lulu and Buzz!

I love playing...

Kekoa loves playing with daddy! Morning times are very special!

Kekoa has gotten so good at playing with the monkey on his jungle mat. He loves pulling it down...but of course I couldn't get it on video.

On Wednesday, Kekoa figured out to play with his mirror for the first time! It is so exciting to watch him discover all these new things. Everyday is something different!

Kekoa was talking today so much in his swing. It was so adorable. Scott and I are always wondering what he is trying to say!

Kekoa started making the cutest sound today. I don't know if he is trying to blow bubbles or what, but I caught him in his car seat playing with his bee and making the sound, "pbbbbb".

4 months old, well almost.

We went to Kekoa's 4 month appointment today. He is 15 lbs. 2 oz. and 25 inches long! He is in the 60th percentile for height and weight! He is doing all the things he supposed to like, grabbing toys, laughing, rolling over, and holding his head up on this tummy. We are very proud of our little boy and never get tired of compliments on how cute he is. We think so too! :)Notice Kekoa trying to grab for his toy! He loves this blue elephant. It plays music too!

Playing with daddy in bed! Scott is trying to have him put his hands in the front pocket of his outfit!Chunka feet!

Look at that cheezy grin! We were having fun playing in bed!

Kekoa is getting so good at his hand-eye coordination. Here he is hitting his toy on the jungle mat.

Big boy in the Moby

I was putting on a little makeup with the full length mirror, while Kekoa was napping in the Moby, and noticed in my reflection how big my little boy is getting! I can't believe how much the little bundle attached to the front of me has grown. Scott and I now have to cover his head with a burp cloth or he won't go to sleep. Don't worry, he can breath just fine! :)

With his head covered...

Head exposed! Look at that bald spot! Yikes!Don't forget to admire the beautiful tree!
All snuggly with mommy!
