Kekoa meets his Auntie JoAnna! :)

This past weekend was a very busy one for us. I am a pretty proud mama that I took Kekoa to San Francisco by myself. in less than perfect weather conditions...not once, but twice!! Why did we make this journey so many times? Because, Auntie Jo was visiting from Bend, Oregon with little Delilah!

We went downtown the first day to do some Christmas shopping. I love San Francisco during the holidays, everything is decorated and you can feel the Christmas spirit in the air. The second day we went to the King Tut exhibit in the De Young Museum. Kekoa LOVED looking at the amazing artifacts, especially the papyrus model boats and any of the artifacts that were gold.

This is the De Young Museum. We went up to the top tower, there is an observation room with all windows. The view was so awesome!
Kekoa was mesmerized by the King Tut exhibit.
The huge and beautiful Christmas tree in Union Square.
JoAnna and sleeping Delilah. Those are all individual wreaths in each of the windows of Macy's!
Stroller mamas with their sleeping babies!
It was so wonderful to see my good friend JoAnna. She is really more like my sister. We met in college, at UC Santa Cruz, so many moons ago. The crazy yellow house we lived in had a total of 9 people living there! Without JoAnna there, I don't think I would have survived the year in that house! We also traveled together through Central America together, 10 years ago!! Time flies!

It is so special that we now both have babies. We were cracking up that we were both pushing strollers and then both had our little ones in the Ergo baby carrier. My hasn't life changed!

Our visit was just too quick. We wish JoAnna and her family lived back here, in the Bay Area! We miss you guys! :)

The first time Kekoa and Auntie JoAnna meet! Kekoa couldn't stop staring into her warm and caring eyes!
Delilah and Kekoa meet in their strollers. It was so cute. Delilah kept saying, "Baby!"

Kekoa was wiped out after our day shopping in San Francisco!
One of the views from the top floor of the De Young Museum. There wasn't a single wall on this floor...all windows!
Delilah is such a big girl now. She is walking and running around now. The last time we saw her, I was pregnant with Kekoa and she was definitely not walking!

The California Academy of Sciences is right across the way from the De Young. The roof is a living roof with all native California plants. It was so cool to see the living roof from this view!

Delilah and Kekoa meet for the first time!

After a long day in the city, Kekoa is passed out....

Kekoa is so cute...

I love my changing table! The toys are so fun and keep me occupied while I get my pamper and my clothes changed. I am now able to grab and pull on the toys!

It was a long day today...I am having some sweet dreams snuggled up to mommy in the moby wrap.

Daddy was home this weekend!

Since Scott only has every other weekend off, our time together as a family is precious. We all had a really great weekend together. Saturday was spent going on a long walk and then relaxing. Everyone took a nap together in the afternoon! All bundled and ready to go...
It's a little cold out here guys!

Sunday was so much fun. We started a new family tradition with Kekoa. We ventured out in the pouring rain, into the Santa Cruz mountains, in search of the perfect Christmas tree. We found our beautiful White Douglas Fir at a Christmas tree farm set back behind the Redwood forest. It even stopped raining for us! There were many other families there, searching for their trees and having picnics.
It was not easy to find our tree among so many other beautiful ones. This Christmas tree farm was on top of a little hill and we carefully walked down, down, down the slippery hillside, into the valley to locate our tree. The view was amazing and it turned out to be such a gorgeous day.
Scott carried the hand saw and I carried Kekoa, as he napped in the Ergo baby carrier. We knew it was our tree as soon as we saw it...standing majestically among the other trees. Scott cut it down and then had to carry it back up, up, up the hillside, while I hiked back up with Kekoa, still napping! :)
It was a very fun day! And now comes the best part...decorating the tree!

I love this picture. There is the beautiful persimmon tree in the background!
The valley we were in. That white sign down at the bottom says "Best Selection Here".
Scott lifting up our tree!
Timber...

Up from my nap! I love our tree!

What a really great day!

First roll over

Daddy caught me today on video with my first roll over. Mommy missed it but is so happy that daddy got it on video. All that practice has paid off. You know what this means? Mommy and daddy can't just leave me some place (like the sofa or changing table)!!

Get ready to smile....

Kekoa is such a quick learner! Just this morning he "discovered" the monkey on his jungle playmat and couldn't stop staring at it. By this afternoon he was hitting it with his hand. It is so exciting to see him playing with his toys and learning about how to be coordinated...this is the first time he's played with anything on his jungle playmat.

Scott took these two videos of Kekoa drinking from the bottle. He can hold it himself, but really likes to just play with it. He knows mommy will be home soon to nurse him...he likes the real thing! :)

One of Kekoa's new things is sticking out his tongue. He pushes out his bottom lip with his tongue, it is the cutest thing. He stuck it way out once and boy does he have a long tongue!!

Take note of Kekoa's super cool bald spot in this video! :)

Kekoa really does love to talk...he is such a vocal little baby, and his fingers must be really tasty!
